The exciting changes we have been planning are complete. We have departed from the current, traditional hot, paved parking lot format to a much more comfortable, grass lawn venue format. We hope that you will join us for some, if not all, of our car show events benefiting animal rescue and welfare. The venue for our 2011 Paws 'n Wheels In The Parks events is the Sam Houston Trail Park at 101 East Interstate 635 in Irving, Texas. The park is located northwest of the George W. Bush Turnpike and the LBJ Freeway (I-635) interchange. The entrance to the park is under the George W. Bush Turnpike viaduct.
Registration is 9:30 to 10:45AM. Show start time is 11:00AM. Absolutely NO registrations will be accepted after the car show starts!

A $10 value of pet food & supplies may be furnished in lieu of the $15 entry fee on the day of each event. See wish list of needed items. The October finale two day pre-entry fee is $20 and $25 on the first day of the event. PLEASE remember that proceeds benefit animal welfare. The first fifty entries at each event will receive dash plaques.

Realizing that the local car show circuit has become diluted with too many profit minded promoters, Great American Wheels & Wings / Paws 'n' Wheels has switched course for the 2011 car show season. We have departed from the current, traditional hot, paved parking lot format to a much more comfortable, grass lawn venue format! We are having fewer but, larger events and developing a festival type atmosphere to make our events fun for the whole family. Our vendors will appeal to ladies, gentlemen and kids. Animal rescue groups will be present with their rescues available for adoption and fostering!
Great Reasons To Enter Great American Wheels & Wings Car Shows in 2011 !
We realize you have a multitude of choices when it comes to selecting which car show(s) to enter your prized possession on a particular weekend. There are a few things we would like for you to consider when it comes to making that decision.
- First, we are NOT promoters using car shows to generate personal income and profit. We ARE car people and have been for a very long time. Our founder was involved with hosting the Dallas Autorama for many years. From the time he was 15 years old and joined the host car club in 1962, he has spent many hours involved with operating successful car shows.
- Second, we are animal lovers! ALL of our car shows benefit animal rescue & welfare.
- Third, Great American Wheels & Wings is the leader in local points shows. A points and cash prize program was announced by Great American Wheels & Wings in early June 2010. Since then, others have followed our lead.
- Instead of awarding relatively inexpensive trophies for a seasonal points program, the winners of the 2010 Great American Wheels & Wings/Paws 'n' Wheels car show season received cash awards. First place prize was $500, second place prize was $300 and third place prize was $200.
- When it comes to deciding which car shows to enter in 2011, please come to car shows which benefit animal rescue and welfare!

These GREAT AMERICAN WHEELS, a 1954 Mercury Monterey four door sedan, will be raffled in 2011. Tickets are now on sale for $25 per chance. Only 4,000 total chances will be sold. Please remember that all of the proceeds from your ticket purchases will helpwith emergency medical expenses of rescued dogs and cats and may save their lives in the process! Besides helping with animal welfare effort, you might just win this classic car!! The drawing will held the Paws 'n' Wheels In The Parks season finale at 5PM on October 9, 2011. The current N.A.D.A. value of this automobile is approximately $7,500 - $10,000. All proceeds will go for animal welfare efforts. This car will be present at 2011 Paws 'n' Wheels In The Parks, many adoption and other events. Two free car show entry fees will come with each '54 Mercury raffle ticket purchase!

THE GREAT AMERICAN WHEELS & WINGS 409
Unlike others who just play the 1962 Beach Boys song "409" on their website, we actually own a 1963 resto mod S.S. Impala (NOT a clone!) with a 425HP 409CID Chevy engine complete with Edelbrock aluminum heads, Edelbrock manifold & carbs, Hooker headers, MSD ignition, Zoops brackets and pulleys, Edelbrock fuel and water pumps and a high torque mini-starter! All parts needed to completely reassemble this beautiful automobile for the 2011 season are finished & present!
